Oracle Support Search

Whenever I encounter a Production  issue with the system, the triage part comes first – whether it is critical or not, and if we had already encountered  it and have documentation. In case that the issue is new, often times I turn to Oracle Support for an answer in hopes that my colleagues from other companies and or someone from our community reported the issue and Oracle had a solution for it.

MOS (My Oracle Support) has a wealth of information, but sometimes sifting through the results can be quite cumbersome.  Quite a lot of Knowledgebase Articles written by Oracle experts in forms of white papers, Info Centers are also published that can provide lots of valuable information – as long as you can get to it.

Oracle folks did a great job with their How to use My Oracle Support – Searching and Browsing video series that I highly recommend.

I also find PeopleSoft (MOSC) Oracle Community forums extremely helpful – participating and asking questions there gets you a quick access to lots of great folks from Oracle and fantastic experts from our PeopleSoft community including Oracle ACEs that go out of there way to contribute quickly answer the questions.

Tremendous amount of information has been provided in there including the links to top content on the Oracle Support, discussion between customers, Oracle staff and customers.

Personally I would like to add the following quick tip for searching the Knowledge Base articles for specific PeopleSoft related topic is by Tags. It seems that a lot of great documents are tagged by by experts who wrote them with the following tags:
